"Overnight, IDF troops identified several Hezbollah terrorists who entered a structure used by the organization as a command center in the area where IDF troops are operating in southern Lebanon. Following the identification, the Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated the terrorists," the military said.

"The IDF will continue to operate to remove any threat to the State of Israel."

12:44 - IDF intercepts 10-rocket barrage fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon

Hezbollah fired around 10 rockets at northern Israel, triggering alarms in the Galilee "Panhandle" and Western Galilee, the IDF said.

According to the military, some of the rockets were shot down while the others were allowed to hit open areas “according to protocol.” There were no reports of injuries or significant damage.

The Qatari Defense Ministry confirmed that the Iranian regime had launched a wave of strikes against its country, adding that its air defense systems were working to intercept the threat. 

Earlier, Reuters reported that several explosions were heard in the capital, Doha.

"The Ministry also urges citizens, residents, and visitors to remain calm, adhere to official instructions issued by the security authorities, avoid rumors, and rely solely on information released through official channels," the ministry said.

11:59 - Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands are sending warships to protect Cyprus

Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands are sending warships to the eastern Mediterranean to protect Cyprus in the coming days, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto told the Italian parliament.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told radio station RTL 102.5 earlier that "Like the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Italy intends to send assistance to Gulf countries, specifically in the field of defense and in particular air defense." Meloni told radio station RTL 102.5 on Thursday.

She noted that the main motive was to protect the tens of thousands of Italians living the in the Gulf countries, as well as the around 2,000 Italian troops deployed there.

11:20 - IDF strikes missile launch sites both above and below ground

The Israeli Air Force completed another wave of airstrikes against regime targets in Tehran, the military announced.

"As part of the strikes, the IDF struck infrastructure belonging to the Iranian terror regime’s ballistic missile array. Among the targets struck: an underground infrastructure site used by the Iranian regime to store ballistic missiles and storage sites for missiles intended for use against aircraft."

"Additionally, the IDF struck several launch sites of long-range ballistic missiles that posed a real and immediate threat to the State of Israel and its civilians."

"During the strikes, an Israeli Air Force fighter jet identified several Iranian regime operatives operating a loaded missile launcher intended to be used against aircraft. The fighter jet struck the launcher and the operatives, thwarting the launches toward Israeli aircraft operating over Iran."


10:50 - Azerbaijan confirms Iranian drone attack on airport, demands clarification

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry confirmed that its territory was attacked with two Iranian drones, marking the first involvement of the country in the current war, and summoned the Iranian ambassador for a clarification.

"On March 5, around noon, drone attacks were carried out from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic," the ministry said, confirming earlier reports.

"One drone crashed into the terminal building of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Airport, and another drone crashed near a school building in the village of Shekarabad."  The city of Nakhchivan lies directly on the border with the northwestern part of Iran.

The statement "strongly" condemned the attacks that injured two civilians and damaged the airport, threatening it "reserves the right to take appropriate retaliatory measures."

The Israeli military released visual and audio footage captured from the F-35 fighter jet that shot down an Iranian Yak-130 fighter jet on Wednesday, the first time in history that an F-35 jet has shot down a manned, hostile aircraft.

"I carried out [the task], the target has fallen, I'm continuing to the attack," the pilot can be heard saying in the short clip.

10:03 - Another Iranian ship is currently off Sri Lanka's coast, request to dock was refused

The day after the U.S. announced a submarine had sunk an Iranian warship near Sri Lanka, a spokesman for the Sri Lankan cabinet said that another Iranian vessel is currently staying in the territorial waters of the country after its request to dock was refused on Wednesday.

He didn't specify whether the ship was military or commercial, adding that Sri Lanka is providing some humanitarian assistance. Two officials said the ship is around 30 km south of the capital Colombo.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz held an overnight phone call with U.S. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, expressing condolences over the deaths of six U.S. soldiers in the ongoing conflict and vowing Israel is doing everything possible to help protect the safety of U.S. forces in the region.

Katz also thanked President Trump for his strong support for Israel and said that the cooperation between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “changing regional and global history.”

Likewise, he thanked Hegseth for his "strong support and for the extensive assistance" in defending Israeli civilians

Hegseth, in turn, thanked Katz for the condolences and praised the unprecedented cooperation between the militaries and the capabilities of the Israeli Defense Forces, adding, "Keep going to the end — we are with you."

03:25 - Ship attacked off the coast of Kuwait

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center, which is run by the British military, reported an attack on a tanker off the coast of Kuwait in the Persian Gulf.

According to the UKMTO report, a tanker came under attack, and a small vessel was seen leaving the area after the expolosion.

Iran is believed to be behind the attack, with similar attacks happening in the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman since the start of the war.

IDF Arabic spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee issued an urgent evacuation warning for Beirut's southern suburbs of Haret Hreik.

"For everyone present in the building marked in red according to the map displayed, and the adjacent buildings: You are located near facilities affiliated with Hezbollah," he warned. "For your safety and the safety of your family members, you are required to evacuate these buildings immediately and stay away from them by a distance of at least 300 meters, as shown on the map."
