US envoy to explore possible Israel-Lebanon normalization
U.S. Special Envoy Amos Hochstein will visit Lebanon on the occasion of the opening of the Karish gas field this month, a historic maritime deal he brokered last October.
During the visit, he will reportedly discuss the possibility of demarcating a land border with Israel and advancing normalization, according to a report by Lebanese Ad-Diyar newspaper, cited by Times of Israel.
The visit to the gas field is reportedly a pretext for the visit, whose main goal will be to “feel the pulse” of the Lebanese side in regard to beginning official relations with Israel.
