The 'Happy Pass' – Israel's revised vaccine passport – went into effect at midnight
Israel – which had enjoyed a massive reduction in coronavirus cases from thousands of active cases during its heyday to single digits – is going backwards into restrictions, masks and potentially even a fourth lockdown over the upcoming fall holidays.
Last night the new “happy pass” – relevant for events such as weddings and bar mitzvahs with 100 people or more – went into effect. According to the new restrictions, guests are required to present proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID or a negative test.
As of now the Coronavirus Cabinet is not implementing the full green passport system.
