POSTPONED: House Speaker Mike Johnson not coming to Israel this week due to raging war between Israel and Iran
So far, Tehran has fired 380+ missiles at Israel, closing Israel’s airports and all schools indefinitely

U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will not visit Israel this weekend and will not be addressing the Knesset — Israel’s parliament — on Sunday, June 22, as planned.
As the Iran-Israeli war rages on, with Tehran already having fired 380 ballistic missiles at the Jewish state, the security environment was considered too chaotic and too dangerous.
Israeli military officials indicate the war is likely to last another two to three weeks.
The fighting is so bad that all schools are closed indefinitely.
All Israeli civilian airports are also closed for the foreseeable future.
Many businesses and factories are closed as well.
As ALL ISRAEL NEWS reported on June 11, Johnson was also planning to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his brief weekend visit.
Speaker Johnson said he is looking forward to rescheduling soon.
“Due to the complex situation currently unfolding in Iran and Israel, [Israeli Knesset] Speaker Ohana and I have made the decision to postpone the special session of the Knesset,” the Speaker told reporters on Monday.
“We look forward to rescheduling the address in the near future and send our prayers to the people of Israel and the Middle East,” he said.
Johnson has repeatedly demonstrated his pro-Israel credentials since becoming the third most powerful leader in the American government, starting with dramatically passing a $26 billion aid package for Israel in April 2024 when many skeptics doubted he could get it done.
A devout Evangelical Christian, Johnson has chosen to make the Jewish state the focus of one of his rare international trips.
He would have been the first major American leader to visit Israel since President Donald J. Trump came back to power in January but chose not to visit Israel during his Mideast tour of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates last month.
