Jewish teenagers shout 'Death to Arabs' at bus driver in Israel, smash windows

A number of Jewish teenagers near Petah Tikva outside of Tel Aviv shouted “Death to Arabs” at an Arab bus driver on Saturday evening.

The teens also attempted to assault the driver and smashed the bus windows using the emergency hammer.

“I asked them to calm down and stop what they were doing, but they hurled insults and yelled racist slurs like ‘Jewish soul, Arab son of a bitch’ and ‘Death to Arabs,’” the driver, Mohammed Abd al-Hadi, told Ynet News.

“A Jewish passenger confronted them, and then they began smashing the bus windows from outside, which caused panic, screams and crying among the passengers.”

Video footage showed one suspect smashing a bus door window, sending shards of glass over a mother and her child.

“We’ve witnessed many things – we suffer from both verbal and physical violence, and everyone knows it,” Abd al-Hadi said.

He also called upon Israel’s Transportation Ministry to “officially recognize bus driving as an official position,” in order to “create a legal deterrent against anyone who dares attack a public bus driver.”

The incident comes a few months after thousands of young religious Zionists marched through Muslim neighborhoods in the Old City on Jerusalem Day, with many similarly chanting “Death to Arabs!” and “May your village burn!”

One large banner in the march read “‘67 – Jerusalem in our hands. 2025 - Gaza in our hands,” referring to Israel's victory in the Six-Day War.

“Without a Nakba, there is no victory!” another sign said, referring to the permanent displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes during Israel’s War of Independence in 1948.

Another similar incident took place in April, when a mob of Orthodox Jewish men in Brooklyn, New York, followed a woman for several blocks, chanting “Death to Arabs!” in Hebrew.

The woman was reportedly mistakenly believed to be taking part in a protest against Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

“They threatened to rape me, they were hurling just vile insults at me,” she said of the incident, much of which was filmed.

“They were screaming at me, ‘Go back to Palestine,’ they were shouting ‘Death to Arabs,’ they kicked me in the back multiple times, they spat on me, they threw objects at my head.”
