Israel officially approved a COVID booster shot for citizens 50 years old and up.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expected to approve boosters in the coming days, but Israel rolled out the third vaccine dose last Sunday, already injecting some 750,000 citizens over 60 in less than two weeks – more than one-third of that age group.

“I call on everyone over 50 to get in line tomorrow morning – go get vaccinated. It is in our hands,” said Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. “Together with the Health Ministry, we have brought a great quantity of vaccines to Israel in order to facilitate quick action in vaccinating the public and protecting it from the Delta strain.”
