Corona Cabinet passes new restrictions to limit crowds at events, stores
The Corona Cabinet, in a late night meeting on Wednesday, passed a new series of restrictions to strengthen the green passport and reinstate the "purple badge" system as well to limit gatherings.
The green passport applies to every Israeli from age 3 and up, meaning negative COVID tests are required to get into most indoor venues. The government will fund the testing for anyone under 12 but those who have chosen to not be vaccinated must pay for the test.
The latest restrictions go into effect on Aug. 18.
