US-Iran talks still scheduled despite US shooting down Iranian drone that approached US aircraft carrier
Despite the U.S. shooting down an Iranian drone that approached the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, which is currently in the Arabian Sea, a summit between the U.S. and Iranian officials in Turkey that is set for Friday will go ahead as planned, the U.S. confirmed.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News that White House Special Envoy Steve Witkof “is set to have conversations with the Iranians later this week, those are still scheduled as of right now.”
