Trump blames immigration for unrest in France, urges border crackdown
U.S. President Donald Trump blamed immigration for the unrest sweeping France and called on the country to close its borders and tighten migration controls.
“France is burning! The immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered that once great country,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late!”
The unrest escalated during nationwide demonstrations over rising living costs and deteriorating public services, with violent groups looting businesses, setting fires and clashing with police.
French authorities have attributed the violence to radical left-wing groups and criminal elements, with no established link between immigration and the unrest.
