Trump announces US will end military aid to Israel by year’s end
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States would end its $3.8 billion annual military aid agreement with Israel earlier than expected, saying, “Israel is a thriving country. It doesn’t need it.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously expressed his intention to phase out American military assistance to Israel, but envisioned a gradual process lasting approximately a decade.
Trump’s announcement would accelerate that timeline significantly, with assistance set to end by the close of this year.
