The Netherlands announces planned participation in next year's Eurovision
The Netherlands announces that it will take part in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest, reversing its boycott over Israel’s participation after just one year as reported by the Times of Israel.
The Dutch NPO umbrella public broadcaster says it has decided to “carefully” return to the 2027 contest after “extensive discussions” with the European Broadcasting Union.
The Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, Iceland and Ireland all withdrew from the 2026 competition in protest of Israel’s participation. Ireland announced last week that it would extend its boycott into next year, while Spain, Slovenia and Iceland have yet to announce whether they will also withdraw.
