Spain allows US extradition request for pro-Palestinian millionaire accused of funding Hamas to move forward
Spain has cleared a U.S. extradition request for James “Fergie” Chambers to proceed to court, despite opposition from left-wing parties in the country’s governing coalition.
The move does not constitute a final decision on Chambers’ extradition but brings him a step closer to potentially being handed over to the Trump administration.
Chambers, an heir to the Cox family fortune, is suspected of transferring $7.5 million to support Hamas and of involvement in unrest targeting Israeli defense company Elbit Systems.
