Saudi Arabia: 12 killed, 309 wounded in attack on Riyadh airport
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that 12 people were killed and 309 wounded in a Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
The fatalities included four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshi nationals, and one citizen from each of the following: the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, the Palestinian Authority and Sudan. Some of the wounded are hospitalized in critical condition at various hospitals.
The attack led to the suspension of operations at the airport and the evacuation of passengers from the site. It represents a serious escalation in attacks on civilian targets in Saudi Arabia amid the ongoing fighting in Yemen.
