Jerusalem International Women’s Film Festival returns for 7th year, Oct 12-16
Jerusalem is gearing up for Jerusalem International Women’s Film Festival for its seventh year, with screenings and other events and activities around the city Oct. 12-16
Usually Jerusalem Cinemateque hosts the festival but this year there are several different locations and venues signed up to host various events and activities.
Lihi Sabag and Shira Meishar put together the agenda for the festival, which takes in feature films from Israel and around the world, documentaries and shorts.
After seven years of struggle between Covid, Oct. 7 atrocities, and subsequent multi-front wars, Sabag is taking heart in scripture for encouragement. “I told Roni we’ve had our seven challenging years, like the seven thin cows in the Bible. Now we’re going to have seven good years, like the seven fat cows," she said, referencing Pharaoh's dream that Joseph interpreted.
