Israeli UN Amb says Abbas will ‘continue sending videos’ while ‘rewarding terror’
Welcoming the U.S. decision to deny Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas a visa to attend the U.N. General Assembly, Israeli U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon said he would remain limited to prerecorded addresses as long as his policies reward terrorism.
“Anyone who continues to pay salaries to terrorists does not deserve to stand on the same stage as world leaders,” Danon said in a post on X Friday.
“I commend the United States for the right decision not to allow him to enter the country. As long as Abbas continues to reward terrorism, he will continue sending videos,” he added.
The U.S. State Department denied Abbas an entry visa to attend the General Assembly in New York, citing the PA's failure to “live up to commitments” to institute reforms.
