Israeli official: Mojtaba Khamenei has 'no influence' over Iran's decision-making
An Israeli security official told Saudi news channel Al-Hadath that Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has "no influence" over the country's decision-making process.
The official claimed that Khamenei's public statements are written by IRGC commander Ahmad Vahidi and alleged that deep internal divisions are threatening the future of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The official also said the United States does not want Israel to join military operations against Iran, even if Iran attacks Israel.
The official further alleged that Iran had planned to assassinate Israeli figures in Tel Aviv in retaliation for the killing of Ali Khamenei.
