Hamas terrorist arrested in Gaza - Defense Minister Katz
Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the arrest of a Hamas terrorist in Gaza earlier today.
"A short time ago, a senior Hamas terrorist was arrested. This is our policy: We do not wait for threats, but pursue Hamas terrorists, thwart them and destroy their terror infrastructures," Katz said in a video statement. "
"We will not leave Gaza until the Strip is demilitarized, Hamas is disarmed, and all terror tunnels are destroyed," he continued. "And even after that, we can remain in Gaza along defense lines and ensure the security of the Western Negev settlements."
The announcement came after multiple reports of a gun battle in Gaza City earlier today, followed by artillery shelling.
Palestinian reports had claimed the Israeli forces attempted to kidnap and senior Hamas leader and were repelled.
