For the first time: Israeli player Orian Goren named in Barcelona squad for El Clásico
Israeli midfielder Orian Goren, 17, has been included in Barcelona’s squad for Sunday night’s El Clásico against Real Madrid, scheduled for 10:00 p.m., becoming the first Israeli player ever named in the squad for the prestigious fixture.
Goren, who has lived in Spain since the age of 11, was selected by Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick after recently beginning training with the first team.
People close to Goren told Kan News they were extremely excited following his first-team training sessions and final medical checks earlier Sunday. They expressed hope that the young Israeli would also get the chance to play in the highly anticipated match.
