After Israeli recognition, Somaliland president to visit US in bid for American recognition
Somaliland President Abdirahman Abdullahi is set to visit the United States this week in an effort to secure U.S. recognition of Somaliland as an independent state, following Israel’s recognition.
The visit will be Abdullahi’s first to Washington and is expected to include meetings with U.S. politicians. A source familiar with the details told Kan News that “the hope is to also meet President Trump.”
