How much time does western civilization have left?

The title poses an interesting question, but also one that has ominous forebodings, due to the times in which we live.

But, in the exploration of how much time we really have, Avigdor Liberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beytenu Party, says that we only have three years to prepare for the next war with Iran. Basing that on Iran’s determination to rebuild its nuclear program and exact revenge for the destruction of the one it had, Liberman says the next war will be a “tougher round of fighting with Iran.” The Pentagon’s prognostication of how much time we have is even more grim, citing just a year.

If you live in America and have been observing the radical evolution of the Democratic Party as a result of the 2024 landslide presidential loss, you may have noticed that a socialist, antisemitic Democrat has just won the NYC mayoral primary. If he wins in November, how much time do you think will be left before things begin to really go awry?

Because if a socialist, parading as a Democrat, can win a campaign, the party will surely remake itself into the winning Zohran Mamdani image since nothing else has succeeded in returning them to the power they crave.

If you live in Europe, you may be asking yourself how much time we have before anti-Western, radical Muslim migrants outnumber the local populations, making it possible for them to gain positions of power in the governments of their respective host countries.

That is the obvious target to bring about legislation that will dramatically alter the way of life, which, up until now, has been the dominant force.

Few may have noticed that, as of 2022, Luxembourg had a whopping 51% foreign-born population, with a ratio of more than 40 immigrants per 1,000 people. Likewise, the numbers are burgeoning in many European countries, such as Germany, France, Spain, Malta, Ireland, Sweden, and Austria.

If you are a working-age person, you might ask yourself how much time your profession has before you are replaced by one of the many robots that will make it so much more cost-effective for businesses to realize profits that cannot happen with human employees. Amazon has figured that out, which accounts for the reason that they have recently deployed 1,000 robots in their workforce.

Let’s be honest, it appears that things are coming to a head from every angle. Much of what we have come to know, as the predictable flow of normal life, is about to change, with or without our approval, because an unavoidable tidal wave is already here, threatening to do away with our familiar lifestyle, political leadership, governance, societal norms, and so much more.

On the precipice of a global shift

We began to see the dramatic changes as diverse populations started to merge with the existing ones, choosing to cling to their old lifestyle rather than integrate into the new one.

It didn't happen overnight. It occurred steadily and methodically as Western countries graciously opened their doors to those they saw as less fortunate individuals, who simply wanted refuge from the harsh government oppression they had endured. At least that’s what they said.

But when the preference is to live in separate ethnic enclaves and reject the local culture, language, dress, and lifestyle, the message being sent is that being Westernized, as were so many of our grandparents and great-grandparents who came to the “new world,” is not for them.

That lack of enthusiasm seems to also be rubbing off on the Gen Z crowd who, according to a recent Gallop Poll, show a steady decline in national pride. Sadly, each generation seems less patriotic than the last. What is responsible for that?

We are on the precipice of a global shift that has, ironically, been facilitated by unsuspecting citizens who didn’t see it coming because they took everything for granted. Western civilization has, for the most part, provided the world with economic and academic opportunities, the likes of which few other societies have been able to do.

It has been a warm and welcoming bastion to the downtrodden, in search of a better life as well as the regard for human dignity, demonstrated in its Judeo-Christian values. In our desire to share those blessings with others, who had the misfortune of being born in a country that did not offer such privileges, Western society is in danger of being replaced in a way that could impact life as we know it.

Blame it on the uber-liberal university education that challenges the status quo or the media, casting terrorists in a more sympathetic light, or the ideology of Marxism and socialism, which has seeped into so many Western cultures, throughout the world. There is no getting around the fact that we are witnessing a rapid shift that is hijacking the once-cherished and revered civilization that most of us have enjoyed up until now.

Couple that with the unquenchable push to get rid of the old and replace it with what is perceived to be better and more advanced technologies, constantly forcing us to move along with those supposed improvements, even if we prefer for things to remain as they’ve been.

If you don’t believe it, just think back to 35 years ago, before everyone owned a smartphone. Today, everyone’s entire life depends on one. It’s how you make appointments, how you get your bus schedule, how you make restaurant reservations, how you communicate with everyone, and how you know what’s going on in the world.

While smartphones may have enhanced the lives of many, the other changes coming down the pike don’t make those same promises. As the threat of war, terrorism, the desire for world domination by evil people, and the weapons created to gain ultimate power loom large, on a global scale, it doesn’t feel as if there is much time left to enjoy the life we all cherish as free people who make our own choices.
