Arab municipality director-general murdered, Ministy of Interior asks Shin Bet for help
Abd al-Rahman Kashua, the director-general of the Tira Municipality, was shot dead on Monday evening, Israeli media reported.
Kashua was among three men who were shot during the incident and is the 152nd murder victim in Israel’s Arab community this year. The other two men sustained light to moderate wounds.
Following Kashua’s murder, Interior Minister Moshe Arbel (Shas party) requested that Shin Bet, Israel’s security agency, increase its involvement in the investigation and address the fight against violence in Arab communities, in general.
