A major electoral surge for Germany’s far-left Die Linke is raising concerns among Jewish and pro-Israel voices in Berlin.

While leading candidate Elif Eralp pledges to protect Jewish life and fight antisemitism, controversial statements from some party activists and elected figures — including references to an “Intifada election” and the “liberation” of Tel Aviv — are fueling anxiety about what a Die Linke-led government could mean for Berlin’s Jewish community.
