Possible military coup underway in Sudan

According to reports, a military coup is under way in Sudan. The army has apparently arrested Faisal Mohammed Saleh, a media adviser to Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, and shut down the Internet in Khartoum.

Sudan joined the Abraham Accords and normalized relations with Israel in October. The country has recently been trying to break away from a past riddled with ties to terrorism. However, it’s inclusion in the Abraham accord has been slow going and ties with Israel have not developed at the same pace as other countries in the Abraham accords.
