Positive COVID cases still high at 8,800 on Wednesday
After two straight days of approximately 10,000 positive COVID cases, there was a slight decrease yesterday to 8,800 cases. The positive rate of 6.6% was nearly the same, but there were fewer tests performed.
Since the beginning of the month, 431 Israelis have died of COVID. Now, less than a week before the start of the school year, 31,441 students are actively carrying COVID and another 90,000 are in quarantine.
There are currently 1,120 COVID patients hospitalized across the country with 680 of them in critical condition.
