Nearly 1 million COVID infections in Israel since pandemic began; positive COVID-19 rate 6.3% – highest in 6 months
The Israeli Health Ministry's tracking website shows that the total number of Israelis infected with COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic is 994,615. At the current rate, Israel will surpass the 1-million mark next week.
Even though the rate of infections is leveling off, the positivity rate of tests is increasing. Yesterday, 6,467 people tested positive for COVID out of 102,000 tests – a positivity rate of 6.3% which is the highest since February.
