The Israeli tech company Wix unveiled last week its first artificial intelligence-based product, which dramatically reduces the time needed to create websites from weeks to just minutes. The new AI-driven product, Wix Harmony, also allows users to design websites in seconds rather than hours, according to the company.

Wix shared a trial video demonstrating how quickly the product can design websites and incorporate illustrative images alongside written content. The product includes a user-friendly assistant called Aria, which helps users efficiently make corrections or even restart the website-creation process. In the video, the company explained that the tool enables users to “flow naturally between instant generation to pixel level control.”

Wix was established in 2006 by Israeli tech entrepreneurs Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami and Giora Kaplan. Headquartered in Tel Aviv, the company emerged as one of Israel’s largest and most successful tech firms.

In February 2025, Wix became the most valuable publicly traded Israeli company, with a market capitalization of $19 billion, according to data from the American NASDAQ, where its shares are traded. However, the company experienced a sharp decline last year, with its stock losing 67% of its value over a 12-month period. By January 2026, Wix’s market capitalization had dropped to $4 billion. Despite the sharp decline, Wix continues to seek to establish itself as the world’s leading website engine.

Last February, the co-founder and company CEO Abrahami articulated the company’s ambitious growth vision.

“My goal and belief is that at this rate of growth, in the next five-seven years, 50% of anything new built on the Internet will be done on Wix,” he stated.

It remains to be seen whether Wix can achieve this strategic goal. The company currently powers around 5% of all global websites compared to 60% powered by WordPress. The company hopes that the new AI-driven and user-friendly platform will attract more users to switch into using the Wix-based website solution.

In addition to its Israeli offices, Wix also has offices worldwide in countries such as Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, the Netherlands, the United States, Ukraine, and Singapore.

Israel is known internationally as the “Start-Up Nation” due to its high concentration of startups, a level of innovation that has transformed the country into one of the world’s leading technology hubs outside Silicon Valley, California.

The Israeli tech industry plays a critical role as a growth engine for the country’s economy and exports. Israeli companies have proven resilient despite several years of challenges, including judicial reforms and the war in Gaza that began in October 2023.

A preliminary report revealed last month that investments in Israeli tech companies increased by 45% since the American-brokered ceasefire in Gaza in October 2025.

“The past year reflects the strength and continued growth of Israeli tech, despite a prolonged period of uncertainty and upheaval in the local and global arena,” LeumiTech CEO Maya Eisen-Zafrir assessed. She particularly emphasized that “the capabilities and reputation that were built up in recent decades in the field of cyber, together with the leadership we see in the field of AI, constitute a force multiplier and a strategic asset for Israel.”
