Increase in number of coronavirus patients in serious condition
The last few weeks has seen a new surge in new COVID cases. On Friday, the Ministry of Health reported 1,118 confirmed infections – the highest daily amount in four months.
Over this period the number of serious cases has remained stable.
Eran Segal, a computational biologist professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science, reported yesterday on Twitter:

Yesterday, though, saw an increase of almost 10% percent, from 58 to 63 patients in serious condition.
Two more COVID patients died yesterday, bringing the monthly total to 16. In comparison, only nine COVID patients died in June.
