Former senior lawmaker convicted in bribery case, sentenced to ten years in prison
Nearly seven years after the "Yisrael Beiteinu political affair" exploded, the main defendant – former Deputy Interior Minister Faina Kirschenbaum – was convicted of taking bribes and sentenced to ten years in prison. She also received a fine of 900,000 NIS ($270,000).
Another defendant, former Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Rami Cohen, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined 180,000 NIS ($55,000).
