Egyptian president wishes Israeli counterpart happy holiday ahead of Jewish new year
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called Israel’s President Isaac Herzog to send his wishes to the Israeli people for the Jewish new year and the upcoming Jewish holidays.
“The two leaders discussed bilateral issues and shared Egyptian-Israeli interests,” according to a Government Press Office statement. “President Herzog thanked the Egyptian president for the important role that he plays in the pursuit of regional stability and peace.”
El-Sisi hosted Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and King Abdullah last week in Cairo as part of an effort to renew Israeli-Palestinian talks.
