DM Katz threatens Houthis with ‘biblical plagues’ after terrorists launch another cluster bomb at Israel

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, once again threatened a response of biblical proportions against the Yemeni Houthi terrorists, as they continued their attempts at retaliation for the killing of their prime minister by launching attacks against Israel.

On Wednesday, the Houthis launched two ballistic surface-to-surface missiles at Israel, including their second use of a missile with a dangerous cluster bomb warhead.

Both missiles were shot down without causing injuries or major damage. On Thursday morning, another missile was intercepted outside of Israeli territory, without causing alarm sirens.

Katz responded by writing on 𝕏: “The Houthis are firing missiles at Israel again. A plague of darkness, a plague of the firstborn, we will complete all ten plagues.”

This was a reference to an earlier post on 𝕏, where he had written that “The Houthi Prime Minister and most of his ministers and other senior officials were neutralized and struck. I warned that after the plague of darkness, the plague of the firstborn would follow, and now we have fulfilled that warning.”

Almost a week ago, simultaneous Israeli strikes killed the Houthi prime minister and several other cabinet ministers in the capital of Sanaa. Since then, the terror group has vowed revenge and launched several unsuccessful attacks.

Following Wednesday’s missile launches, the IDF stated: “A field examination concluded that the Houthi terrorist regime used a cluster surface-to-surface missile.”

“The IDF calls on the public to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command and to be responsible and vigilant in the presence of unexploded remnants and unidentified objects, to distance themselves from the area, and to immediately report to the Israel Police.”

Cluster warheads are difficult to intercept, since they release numerous smaller bombs which fall to the ground separately. The Iranian regime used such a missile during the 12-Day War, while the Houthis’ first use of the weapon was registered just several days ago.

As he does following most Houthi attacks, the group’s spokesman Yahya Saree again claimed that the attack targeted “sensitive enemy targets in the occupied Jaffa area,” confirming that a cluster missile of the type “Palestine-2” had been used.

The launches were carried out both in support of Gaza and as an initial response to the “Israeli aggression” against Yemen, Saree added.

Unlike most Houthi attacks in recent weeks, the two missiles on Wednesday triggered alarm sirens across large areas in Israel.

The first missile caused red alerts in the greater Tel Aviv area all the way to the outskirts of Jerusalem, while the second caused sirens south of Jerusalem and in the Judean desert.

Houthi leaders, meanwhile, continued to threaten retaliation, vowing not to stop attacks against Israel until the end of the Gaza War.

The terror group’s acting Prime Minister, Muhammad Miftah, boasted in a speech at the University of Sana’a that the entire government had been impacted by the Israeli strike: “This is a great sacrifice – the entire government sacrificed itself. A government that had only completed its first year and ended with this honorable and significant result.”

“The one who attacked the government of the Yemeni people is not the government of the criminal and murderer Netanyahu – it is the global Zionist apparatus in all its branches and components. They wanted to send a message to the Yemeni people to abandon our military, political, ideological, and popular support for Gaza and to leave Gaza at the mercy of criminals who will devour it,” Miftah claimed.

“Our stance will become stronger, our escalation will intensify, and the death and injury of Yemeni government members give us even greater motivation. It lifted our morale and gave us more strength to confront the most dangerous evil in human history – the evil of the global Zionist apparatus in all its components. We are at their throats, and we will defeat them,” he concluded.
