COVID infection rate increases to 7.8%, highest in fourth wave
Some 6,576 Israelis tested positive for COVID on Sunday and while this represents a decrease from the previous week, the number of total tests, 87,000, was less than average and the positive rate increased to 7.81% – the highest during the current fourth wave.
The number of patients in serious condition increased to 752. A total of 1,145 patients are hospitalized with COVID.
The school years set to begin on Sept. 1, yet 88,000 students are currently in quarantine.
