Yemeni Houthis reportedly capture strategic port city Mokha on Red Sea coast
Forces of the Houthi terror group have captured the key port city of Al-Mokha, located on the Red Sea coast near the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait, three anti-Houthi Yemeni government officials told Reuters on Thursday.
Recent days have seen intense fighting between the Houthis and forces loyal to Saudi Arabia and the internationally recognized government.
The Houthis have reported about 40 airstrikes launched by Saudi forces on Thursday. “The Saudi enemy’s air force conducted around 40 strikes in recent hours in the governorates of Taiz, Hodeida, Al-Jawf and Marib,” the Houthi news agency Saba stated.
