Wave of strikes hits southern Iran; drones explode near US consulate in Erbil - report
Iranian media reported a broad wave of strikes across southern Iran, including the port of Sirik, the cities of Bandar Abbas and Bandar Lengeh, and Kish Island—locations surrounding the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Unofficial sources also reported explosions in the southwestern city of Ahvaz.
Meanwhile, reports from Iraq's Kurdistan Region said drones and missiles struck multiple locations. Several drones reportedly exploded near the U.S. Consulate in Erbil, while missiles were also said to have targeted bases used by Iranian Kurdish opposition groups operating from the Iraqi side of the border.
