US rejects Israeli request to keep sanctions on Syria
Israel asked the Trump administration not to lift all sanctions on the Syrian regime but was turned down, Israeli officials told Kan News.
Two Israeli sources said the Trump administration promised Israel “compensation” following the refusal.
On Thursday, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa addressed the nation, welcoming the removal of the sanctions and thanking U.S. President Donald Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Qatari prime minister, and the Turkish president.
