US proposes Turkey play limited, indirect role in Gaza
U.S. officials have proposed to Israel that Turkey would not deploy troops on the ground in Gaza, but could instead maintain a presence at rear bases in Jordan and Egypt to provide logistical support for a future international force.
However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Netanyahu made clear to President Donald Trump that Turkey would not be present in Gaza and would not take part in Phase B of the agreement.
