US plans to bar Palestinian Authority President Abbas from attending UN assembly - report
The U.S. Trump administration is planning to bar Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas from attending this year's United Nations General Assembly in New York City in September, a source told The Jerusalem Post.
The U.S. already banned Abbas from attending last year, citing its right to deny entry over concerns connected to security, extremism, and foreign policy considerations.
The source added that the PA is trying to convince the U.S. to overturn the decision, reportedly also turning to Turkey for help.
