US military: We struck Iran in response to Apache helicopter downing
The U.S. military confirmed it carried out a second round of strikes in Iran overnight, saying the attacks were launched in response to the downing of an American Apache helicopter.
According to U.S. Central Command, American forces targeted Iranian air defense systems and radar installations, describing the operation as a “proportionate response to Iran’s unprovoked aggression.”
Commenting on the strikes, President Donald Trump said the response “had to be very strong and very powerful.” Amid the escalation, Trump also held a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
