US, Israel and Lebanon announce ceasefire deal conditional on Hezbollah withdrawal
The United States, Israel and Lebanon have agreed to implement a ceasefire, contingent on Hezbollah halting its attacks and withdrawing from areas south of the Litani River, the U.S. State Department announced overnight.
The agreement was reached following the latest round of talks between Israel and Lebanon in Washington. The ceasefire framework is intended to reduce tensions along the border and create conditions for longer-term security arrangements between the two countries.
