US forces launch retaliatory overnight strikes on Iran
The U.S. launched a broad wave of overnight strikes on Iran, CENTCOM said, calling the operation a response to Thursday's "attempted missile attacks" on American forces in the region.
The retaliatory strikes targeted dozens of IRGC infrastructure, the statement added.
CENTCOM said the IRGC launched multiple ballistic missiles on Thursday in what it described as "an attempted surprise attack on U.S. forces based in the Middle East."
All the missiles were intercepted, according to the statement.
