US completes seven-hour wave of strikes, resumes naval blockade on Iran
U.S. forces carried out a seven-hour wave of strikes on Iran, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced overnight.
The operation struck dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and along Iran's coastline, including missile and drone sites, naval assets, and coastal defense systems, the statement said.
CENTCOM also noted that the U.S. resumed a naval blockade targeting vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports.
The announcement came hours after a separate CENTCOM statement accused Iran of "intentionally targeting civilians across the region" by attacking seven commercial vessels over the past week.
