U.S. at UN: Israel has the right to recognize Somaliland, like any sovereign state
The United States sharply criticized a UN Security Council meeting convened over Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, calling it an example of double standards.
U.S. Deputy Ambassador to the UN Tammy Bruce said on Monday night that Israel has the right to conduct diplomatic relations like any sovereign country, including recognizing Somaliland. She argued that singling out Israel over the issue is unjustified and inconsistent with how other states are treated in international forums.
