US and Great Britain impose third round of sanctions against Hamas
The United States and Great Britain announced their third round of coordinated sanctions against Hamas on Tuesday, targeting leaders and financial supporters of the terror group.
“The United States, in coordination with the UK, is imposing sanctions on individuals and entities that have supported Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist groups. We continue to coordinate with our partners and allies to disrupt these terrorist financing channels,” U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote on X.
The sanctions are targeting Hamas leaders and its financial support mechanisms channeling funds from Iran to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).
“The United States will continue to work with our partners, including the U.K., to deny Hamas the ability to raise and use funds to carry out its atrocities,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said.
