UAE to build 3 water desalination plants in Gaza Strip
The United Arab Emirates’ Defense Ministry is planning to build three water desalination plants in the southern Gaza Strip as part of its humanitarian aid operation there, the UAE-based news agency WAM reported on Thursday.
The desalination plants will be built in the city of Rafah, near the Egyptian border, and will have the capacity to produce 200,000 gallons of fresh water per day.
The desalination infrastructure is part of the UAE’s aid program called ‘Gallant Knight 3,’ which “symbolises the UAE’s historic stance of support and solidarity with the brotherly people of Palestine, particularly in light of the challenging circumstances they are facing.”
