Ultra-Orthodox parties threaten to dissolve Knesset unless draft law is advanced
Ultra-Orthodox lawmakers are threatening to support dissolving the Knesset if the pace of discussions on the military draft bill is not accelerated.
In a message delivered to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, they warned that if progress is not sped up, they will not only withhold support for the state budget but could also push the country toward elections.
The option to bring a bill to dissolve the Knesset back to a vote reopened this week, after the parliamentary six-month waiting period expired since a similar motion failed on the eve of the strike on Iran.
