Two Arab Israelis arrested for intention to join Syrian Jihadi terror group
Two Arab Israeli residents from the cities of Jaffa and Kalansawa were arrested one month ago on suspicion of identifying with a global Jihadi terrorist organization.
The two suspects, Yussuf Janid and Issa Bitshun, were arrested based on evidence that they planned to join a jihadi terror group in Syria and carry out terrorist activities, Israel's Shin Bet security intelligence services and the Israel Police announced on Tuesday.
The two male suspects were arrested by local law enforcement after undergoing military training in Turkey.
The Israeli state attorney’s office submitted an indictment against the two men for serious security offenses to the Magistrate’s Court in Kfar Saba.
