Turkish intel chief congratulates new Hamas leader on election
The chief of Turkey's intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin, congratulated new Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya on his election, the terror group said.
Kalin “congratulated [al-Hayya] on the confidence placed in him by his colleagues” and “reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the Palestinian people,” Hamas said.
Al-Hayya in turn “expressed his appreciation for the positions taken by the Republic of Turkey and for the strong bilateral relationship, affirming that communication and consultations would continue,” the statement added.
