Turkish foreign minister: Israel has become 'a burden humanity can no longer bear'
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Israel has become “a burden humanity can no longer bear,” calling for increased diplomatic pressure and sanctions against Israel during an interview with CNN Türk.
“Israel is not only Turkey’s problem or President Erdoğan’s problem,” Fidan said. “It is a problem for all of humanity.” He urged countries to “take a diplomatic stand” and impose what he described as necessary sanctions.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar condemned the remarks, calling them antisemitic and accusing Fidan of incitement. Sa’ar said the comments echoed historical antisemitic rhetoric and called on Turkey’s NATO allies and the international community to denounce them.
