Turkey arrests 115 ISIS operatives over planned Christmas attacks
Turkish authorities have arrested 115 suspects over alleged ties to Islamic State, on suspicion they were planning attacks targeting Christmas and New Year events, primarily against non-Muslim communities.
The arrests followed raids at 124 locations across Istanbul, where weapons, ammunition and ISIS-linked documents were seized. Investigators believe the suspects were in contact with ISIS operatives abroad.
The operation came just two days after Turkish intelligence detained a senior ISIS figure near the Afghanistan–Pakistan border.
