Trump tells Israel & Iran to 'stop shooting immediately'
Israel and Iran are aiming for an immediate ceasefire, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed in a social media post on Monday.
“Both sides, Israel and Iran, are looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE! Final negotiations on ‘Peace’ are proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way,” Trump wrote after previously warning that both must “immediately stop ‘shooting.’”
“The Blockade will remain in place, and in full force and effect, until a ‘Final Deal’ is reached,” he added, referring to the Strait of Hormuz, and said “things should move quickly.”
The Israeli military carried out retaliatory strikes in Iran despite Trump telling several news outlets he would urge Israel not to strike back after Tehran launched missiles across the country on Sunday evening.
