Trump responds to Khamenei accusation, says new leadership needed in Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that “Iran needs new leadership,” in comments to Politico, sharply criticizing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Trump described Khamenei as “a sick man” and said Iran must be governed properly and stop killing its people, calling Iran “the worst place to live in the world” because of what he described as failed leadership.
Earlier Saturday, Khamenei accused Trump of responsibility for the deaths of protesters in Iran, calling the U.S. president a “criminal” for what he said were deaths, destruction, and incitement against the Iranian nation.
